"A Honeyed Gaze" - A Sonnet

Do they smile for me I wonder ..
Crinkling almost as if to lure
And then suddenly they dance
While stealing a glance
Furtively flirting so often
readily waiting to soften
Appealing and repealing
Like a lover besotted

Honey gold blinders
so forlorn yet tender
Innocently they seduce
with a gaze so compelling
that its a tug at your heart
saying, "Do we have to part?"

Great text!
Seduction is such a delicate art, you have to be so perceptive and sure of your self, deal with your ego in the right way. Waht a compliate situation it can become eventually

Berenice,
Those eyes ARE truly endearing!

Mariana,
If seduction is an art, then it comes from the heart... and then there is no passing judgment on it, is there? :)

A perfect logical deduction. You are right in that one. Althought I have my doubts about the judgment, like when a grown up seduces a kid, I am not sure it is right.

Yes, lyrically seductive.

eshu,
I like the qualifier "lyrically" in your comment on this poem. :)

You are in love with those eyes if I can say so.

A honeyed gaze.

Love that.

Reading a poem composed in a foreign language is unfortunately nearly always half a let-down.

The problem is not the meaning but the feeling.

The first line and the last line make me think that you have written this in a kind of melancholic state of mind.

I like those rhymes, especially dance and glance and also heart and part. Make more of those.

Is someone smitten? That would be nice.

Your poem has a very rich sound and feel, like honey.
