NIKE 's first Cricket advertisement! I guess the game has finally arrived. This is an an advertisement campaign designed for a cricket crazy India. NIKE, sure has its feel on the pulse of this nation, which I'm told eats drinks and breathes cricket. This is especially true now that the World Cup is on in the West Indies, and where the Indian team has a fighting chance of emerging the winner.

I wonder how they shot the ad!
But India lost.

they lost...
Id.. Are you from Bombay by any chance? I loved your little poem re Bombay by the way. :)
I have so outgrown cricket, but 15 years away will do that to one I guess.
sanjay,
Cricket, like soccer crosses all boundaries of language, nation, religion... It is a sport that collapses national and cultural walls and makes all differences seem inconsequential. The game of Cricket has tremendous power to unite peoples in healthy competition. Long live the game!
No, I'm not from there and the poem is not about it either, but I'm glad you liked my poem.
Hey, III...first WARNING for you, if you happen to watch 'Namesake' don't put the review. Your reviews are so comprehensive (though you make sure they don't tell the story) that I'll lose the thrill of watching it. (In fact, a confession - I tread ur reviews and then tell people I watched the movie). SECOND...Cricket in India is said to be a religion, we all play cricket, either on grounds, in our lanes, streets, parks, even rooftops. So yes we literally live and breathe cricket. Smart move from Nike...they had to connect with audiences here, it's very much like all MNCs have done, e.g McD's menu here is completely diff. from what you get in states.Long comment i guess..oops!
Too slim a chance i should say - considering we lost to Bangladesh. But being cricket fanatics we expect them to bounce back and win the world cup.
U r so right about India & Cricket
hehe...and guess who is eating humble pie after india's unceremonious exit frm the World Cup:)
I've a feeling somebody at Nike's Marketing is cheesed off like hell right now. I guess this ad is gonna go down in the case studies of genius being thwarted by uncontrollable external factors :O
it was an amazing ad, but well, they can hardly have that after the fables men in blue came unceremoniously back, can they?
I wonder if Nike would lose sales based on India's performance in the world cup:P
